Background
Our investigations to date indicate a lack of timely, accurate and relevant information being available to owners/managers of many Irish hotels. An increasingly difficult trading environment has emerged with:
- Significant growth in number of hotel bedrooms in Ireland since 2000 – largely driven by tax incentives
- Pressure on revenue due to this increased competition.
- Increasing strength of the Euro.
- Significant increases in labour, energy and other direct costs.
This has forced hotels to look at costs more closely to achieve desired operating margins and adequate return on investment.
